I grew up with the love of cooking in my house but I always had a thing for baking. Maybe because the outcome is always that much sweeter 😉
Now that I’m living out of Manhattan it is MUCH easier to cook! ( I swear, my old kitchen was a stove, a sink, and ONE counter. & I’m not kidding! ) So now, on my days off I bake from recipes I find online.
I came across this amazing blog Crazy for Crust and this girl can bake! All of her pictures of her desserts are to die for! I spent hours looking through the recipes and came across one that stood out for me. I HAD to try the Funfetti Gooey Bars since my boyfriend loves Funfetti Cake.
I followed the directions to this very simple and easy recipe to the T. My gooey bars didn’t come out as picture perfect because I’m still getting used to this new oven. The 30 min bake time was a little too long on my end but the taste of the bars definitely did not suffer.
I substituted yellow cake for funfetti cake. I also forgot the second round of sprinkles. I didn’t taste any let downs but will probably make sure to add them next time.
OK, so for the taste of these bars! Imagine the chewiest cookie ( in cake form ) with sweetness of delicious white chocolate chips and the slightest crunch from the rainbow sprinkles. I have never tasted anything like it ever in my dessert tasting life.
*If you’re a New Yorker and know of Momofuku Milk Bar; It gives you the same feeling you get when you eat the “Crack Pie“!
I urge you to please please please make this recipe too! I promise, you will die of shock from deliciousness.
